Transforming a new technology into innovative design objects….

Formagenda is a rapidly growing design start-up and producer of decorative and architectural lighting objects always in search of lighting solutions that positively surprise. With Tape we received the chance to apply our engineering skills transforming the initial idea “of the thinnest lamp on the market” of Benjamin Hopf into reality. A special challenge were the electric connections of the light sources with the power unit in order to be almost invisible. An auto-adhesive, flexible printed-circuit board was the ideal solution: The pre-assembled Led-circuit unit can quickly be attached to the lamp body. Spring contacts assure the connection to the power pack without need for further wiring. With an extremely small wall-mounted housing a 3D-simulation process could guarantee an easy and fluid installation process.
